Creed while he was still whole was an FBI agent and recruited by the NSA because Tally wanted him to hunt down Fritz and the Old Gods. After a run-in with Fritz, he was permanently disfigured and agreed to hunt down false idols in exchange for the chance to get revenge on Fritz.
